Restoration applied to photography is a recent preoccupation, appearing about twenty years ago. It shows the evolution of the official statute of photography : document-images became object-images. In the Bartholdi bequest of the Musée des arts et métiers are numerous proofs on albumenized paper. Romain Guedj, restorer, made a careful diagnosis of the alterations.
